St. Paul Snuggles

…So we’re finally post Chicago and tonight is our third night house-sitting in St. Paul, Minnesota for this ADORABLE furball named Bun Snuggles.

It’s funny, in the morning the first thing we say to each other is, “Go feed Bun!” and one of us stumbles downstairs and gets him a chunk of apple, various pieces of lettuce and herbs and a handful of hay. He just munches along, happy as a clam. He seems very quirky, i.e. doesn’t like to hop on hardwood and has a sea of runway carpets arranged for inter-house travel. It’s been so nice to be able to be around a pet again, especially a furry chill one reminiscent of our cat in Maryland waiting for us when we’re done our journey.

The Twin Cities have been amazing so far! I visited when I was nineteen and loved the experience back then. It’s been perfect to see Jose so excited and FINALLY have an actual place in mind that makes sense that we could, in theory, move to when our travels are done.

We walked along the St. Paul Riverwalk yesterday and it was so flooded huge swaths of the park were closed down.

Revisited the waterfall I so viscerally remember seeing years ago.

Lots of different historical industry here that is refreshing to see!

It feels like there’s so much to see but neither one of us feels particularly rushed because, I don’t know. It feels right.

Fun fact: Target headquarters are in Minneapolis! There’s a Super Target nearby us in St. Paul and I all of a sudden remembered that Target veers distinctly from Walmart in that you are not trying to get out of there ASAP.

We have a friend from the Folk School in town while we visit so we’re going to do some sightseeing, visit her family and go to a few random events while we’re in town. Super excited! Slash today has been a gorgeous, sunny day. 🙂
